The Impossible Knife of Memory Summary

The Impossible Knife of Memory
Author: Laurie Halse Anderson

(1st Book Summary!)

The impossible knife of memory book is a story about family that isn't as any typical family. Hayley Kincain was going through a miserable era in her life because of her past, and also because Hayley over worries about her father. The reason of the hardship she went through is because her dad has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder because he went to war in Iraq, also because his girlfriend Trish left him, and Hayley just started going to a public school. Hayley has only been homeschooled so she isn’t use to the whole big change, and doesn’t feel safe leaving her father by himself aware that he might attempt something ludicrous. Hayley overcomes many of these obstacles through out the book finding love with Finn but not being open with him about her problems. At the end let’s her memories fade through because she began learning how to cope with her problems, dealing with them, and she finally lets Finn see the other side of her.
